Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to embark on their independent quest, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
According to the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might look mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a individual motive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in House Halovar could enable the team enter places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Additionally, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
